Austin Fresh Roast is owned by Shanna and Jack Bauer, who are committed to roasting the best coffee they can create. Each coffee varietal has an infinite number of possible tastes, depending on the roast, and Austin Fresh Roast is determined to find the finest one. AFR uses an Ambex YM-5 drum roaster to turn out tasty cup after cup.
Jack
Jack has been an avid lover of coffee and frequenter of coffee houses since 1995. He started home roasting his coffee in 2004 and has been looking for the perfect cup of coffee ever since. Aside from the perfect cup, Jack wants to one day win the World Series of Poker, travel the world, sail the Mediterranean, and watch every episode of Star Trek.
Shanna
Shanna (Jack’s beautiful wife) has passions about water quality and rock climbing. She also knows a good cup of coffee when she tastes one. Her love of coffee originated in the rain forests and coffee plantations of Costa Rica. Shanna will one day win the Nobel Peace prize for saving the rain forest and world’s water problems or for baking the world’s best gluten-free desserts.
AFR Mascot (aka. Toby)
Toby is big, goofy, and has too much natural energy to be allowed to drink coffee.
